Laura U. Gershuni
is an instructor at the University of Hawai‘i School of Travel Industry
Management. Her professional background includes teaching, management, and
culinary experience in tourist destinations such as San Francisco, London,
Paris, British Columbia, and Honolulu. Her management experience includes
positions at luxury hotels and high-end food and hospitality operations where
she developed and implemented company operating procedures, employee training
programs, strategic planning initiatives, and marketing and promotional
programs. Most recently, and prior to joining the University of Hawai‘i at
Mānoa, she held a faculty position at Vancouver Island University in British
She received her
M.B.A. from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and her B.A. in Anthropology from
the University of California, Berkeley. While in graduate school, she was
awarded several scholarships, including the Shidler International Excellence
Scholarship and a University of Hawai‘i Foundation Fellowship.She also holds
diplomas in advanced Cuisine and Pastry from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France,
where she earned Le Grand Diplôme.
